David N. Mabrey is one of the most experienced and recognized criminal defense attorneys in Maryland. After graduating from the University of Baltimore School of Law in 1990, Mr. Mabrey accepted an appointment as an Assistant State’s Attorney in Baltimore City where he prosecuted thousands of traffic, misdemeanor, felony and homicide cases over his 20 year career. As a prosecutor, he had an approximately 85-percent success rate for felony-and-homicide cases and a 75-percent success rate for misdemeanor cases that went to trial. He argued and won more than 40 post convictions for felonies and homicides. During his career as a prosecutor, Mr. Mabrey served as team captain in several units within the State’s Attorney’s Office, namely the homicide unit, where he trained dozens of prosecutors. Since 2010, Mr. Mabrey has parlayed his vast experience into successfully defending clients in private practice.
In addition to practicing law, Mr. Mabrey serves as a Faculty Adviser for the Maryland State’s Attorneys Association for Trial Advocacy Program at the University of Baltimore; as well as an adjunct faculty member for both the undergraduate and graduate programs.
